In view of the potential impact and shared nature of water risks:

Decrease the pressure on limited freshwater resources, both in terms of quality and quantity, through the reduction of water consumption, water reuse and recycling, within and outside the fence of own operations and cross-sectors. Key components are the adoption of fit-for-purpose wastewater treatment standards and the recovery of other resources (bioenergy, heat, fertiliser, selenium, phosphorus, nitrogen). Water reuse can help reduce operating risks (improved security of supply, water quality requirements), secure licenses to operate, generate revenues, develop operations, and allow for savings.
